Why Radial Ball Bearings Must fit Right

Radial Ball Bearings

When it comes to the longevity and optimal production of radial ball bearings, having the correct housing and shaft is crucial. Regardless of what you're using the bearings for, you want peak performance levels to not only perform tasks better, but also save money in wear and tear and replacement costs. Here's a few things to consider for why fitting radial ball bearings correctly is so important.

If Your Radial Ball Bearings are too Loose

Bearings will only achieve their full potential if they are fitted properly. This goes for both inside the bearing housing as well as on the shaft. If your radial ball bearings are fitted too loosely, they will make noise, vibrate, and not be as accurate with their rotation. Additionally, it could cause bearing seat damage and wear out much quicker.

If They're too Tight

When your bearings are mounted too tightly, they will often overheat, have a reduced radial play, have greater than desired pre-load, and require an excessive amount of torque to mount or remove.

Keep these tips in mind when mounting your radial ball bearings, and you'll likely find you have better results with your projects. If you'd like to see more, check out these radial ball bearings and find what you're looking for.
